This hyar festival has grown to what it is by the shear tenacity, vigilance, n insight of Karen McLellan.
Karen, thank ye fer all you have done over the past five years.

Harrie Karrie
(aka Karen McLellan with Passado)

This hyar poor chap in da stocks be r own Rodney Dangerfield, Cap'n Bizmo, aka: Pete Colean. He's done more n 'is fair share o work n never gits any respect so's we thought we'd give 'im some. He been r M.C. since da inception o Pirate Daze n now has been handed da reigns o oversee'n da festival. Good luck schmuck, er Cap'n, yer gonna need it!!! It be a tough job but we knows yous kin do it!
Deez groups below are amongst r favorites, great performers n wonderful "band" o pirates. Da International Pirates o Seattle hep'd us start dis festival some years back so dey be pretty special in r hearts.

The much feared, stinking to high heaven, salt encrusted and horrendous table mannered Open Sores Pirates (uh, Ocean Shores Pirates but we like Open Sores better). Dey tooks r bowling trophy away but dat story t'aint over wit yet.....

Dis hyar be da fearsome "Beer Bard Privateers" from da northern waters o Canada. Dey be hav'n da mini brig battles in da marina all weekend fire'n off dere cannons n show'n yall how trooly frightful battle at sea can be!
Go to da Beer Bard Privateers...

Den we has da Black Diamond Pirates, dey like ta make lot's o noise n smoke. Dis what make's 'em a "blast" ta be 'round tho. Dat be my kind o wench, one dat keeps 'er grog mug handy n 'er powder dry!
Da Black Diamond Pirates Lair
N Hyar be a lil disclaimer from r brethren Quartermaster Blackheart 'Kuda from da Pirates of the Black Diamond concerning the recent news of those cowards in Somali. She says it best fer all o us. We're united with her thoughts.
"The "Pirates of the Black Diamond" do hereby wish it to be known that we as an Incorporated Crew of Pirate Re-Creators in no way, shape or form approve, support or condone the actions of the Somali Pirates. These Alleged so named...Pirates... Are not cut from the same cloth of those we re-create and emulate in our appearances at Faires, Festivals and Events all across Washington State in our Family-friendly PG-Rated venues. There have always been
Pirates and there will likely always be Pirate Re-Creators/Entertainers for all of the public to enjoy...
Without fear or threat of harm or foul to any person, place or thing. We will always abide all moral, legal, and approved guidelines, rule and Laws therein.
However, it is not only egregious but outrageous to compare those of us who portray Pirates from the "Golden Age of
Piracy"” with those in Somali is tantamount to equating US Civil War re-enactors with soldiers in the civil war in Angola, it is not appropriate or correct. In the time we strive to Re-create; the ships were all powered by the wind, there Were press gangs forcing men to become sailors, there were captains of non-pirate ships who were cruel to their crew.
Pirates of that time had control of their own democracy; each sailor down to the lowest swab had a vote in the affairs of a
Ship. Captains, for the most part, had little power except during battles; this was due to the experiences with cruel captains
Most sailors had to endure. Crew members from captured ships often joined the pirates as they knew they would have a Better life on such a ship. How many captives of the Somali Pirates have turned pirate as a result? Think about that!
So as all of you see us at faires, festivals and other events all along the Puget Sound Coastline; Don't ask us what we
Think of the Somali Pirates, We think they are thugs and criminals who (to paraphrase our good friend & Pirate Brethren Cap'n Slappy) "They are ruining our bad names".
The "Pirates of the Black Diamond" will unite with all our Pirate Brethren
In all venues and states and Remain the Same. Rantin' & Ragin' Re-creatin Pirates
Celebrating an "Era of Time Gone By" for all of you to continue to enjoy for many years to come.
PIRATES ROCK!!!
Ask any of our fans over the the last four (4) years. Our Piracy entertaining will never be compromised.
QuarterMaster/Manager... BlackHeart "KUDA"

Pirates o Treasure Island Hide Out
"In Remembrance"

We recently lost our beloved Neddie Rose. Her love of Westport and it's citizens is legendary. She will be remembered as always smiling, having a keen sense of business and every ones friend. There's nary a soul here in Westport she didn't help out in one way or another.
Fair Winds and Calm Seas, Neddie Rose
"Pirates of Past"

We are extremely saddened to have lost two dear friends. Bloody Barney of the International Pirates, Seattle chapter and Thomas Long, owner and handler of Passado the parrot. Two of the finest pirates we've had the pleasure of knowing. Fair winds, calm seas and may God bless you and your families. You will be forever in our hearts.
Here we go wit some pics o Pirate Daze 2007!

In the first picture we 'ave one o da worst displays o "bawdrieness", a sight that makes da soul quiver n thier families scorned. Dey be "Lucky Liz", "Barbarosa" n "Honey Do". Then we 'ave one o da "Salty Dog" kontest winners. I believe this 'lil character took second place but won first in me heart! Then we 'ave da "I told you it didn't always rain in Wetport" shot. See dem dere blu skys?!!

First we have last years Jack Sparrow look a like winner Naiomi playing her fiddle, mighty fine she be at that too! Then we have Saber show'n off 'er new eye patch she got at the face paint'n booth. I git ta take credit fer da thought 'o paint'n em on, but her dad wern't none too pleased come time to wash it off....
Finishing off this trio we 'ave Scullery Maid lur'in the men in with 'er spell binding good looks! Ya gotta love a wowan like dat!

'ere we 'ave Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow & Jack Sparrow.....
A legacy & tradition continues, Thomas Long's step son carries on with Passado.
Fer da love 'o da Lord, we 'ave a very rare pikter 'o da elusive Bones, da International Pirates were take'n a huge risk in lett'n 'im play the uke at Cowboy Bob's!
Me can't thinks how easy we makes it fer ya, here's a link to da Chamber O Commerce so's ya kin find what yer look'n fer as in places fer grub r rest'n yer bones fer da night.
Wetport/Grayland Chamber O Commerce (yes, Wetport)
Here be a link ta "No Quarter Given", a pirates web site second ta none. (Well, maybe dis hyar one) Dey got links to everthing under da sun relating ta pirates.
No Quarter Given
Now 'ere we have some pikters of Pirate Daze, 2006.

Alas, hyar's our first place winner of da "Jack Sparrow" look a like contest. A dead ringer fer sure! Then we have scalawags do'n their jig n the fearsome Int'l Pirates o Seattle invading Westport.

Here we 'ave Frogg in 'is finest Saturday attire and then an eclectic group, me thinks the British fancy pants might be in a bit of a pickle look'n who's his company be. Looks like Tide flats got 'imself a new devilishly handsome cabin boy!

Ah, pirates n their toys. If'n yer go'n to attend r festival, ya might want ta bring yer ear plugs.
Here's a few pictures o 2005 Pirate Daze. We had a great time, lots 'o laughs n hope ta sees ya all this year o Our Lord 2006!

Wiley Wyatt n Light Fingers Linnea take'n a load off.

There's dance'n in da streets to da tunes of the International Pirates n da Lady Washington fire'n her cannons.

Ahoy! Da Treasure Island Pirates o Seattle 'ave landed while Light Fingers n Wiley r try'n some of dat Buccaneer Corn. Wonder how much dat cost?

Harrie Karrie n Pasado, who is owned by Tom n Gail Long o Olympia. A tough decision ta be made in da kids best costume contest n then we 'ave Tide Flats da morning after a late night jam session with Frogg. Heard it was more fun than load'n da cannon with silverware!

Tide Flats n Razor Clam share a tender moment. R very own lovely Scullery Maid. Can't argue 'bout it, she keeps a tidy ship! Den we 'ave r 'ol Cap'n Pepper n Tide flats yuk'n it up during a grand performance on da street. Mouse 'ore da pic ta git Peppers grand farewell to 'yall. She set sail fer northern waters wit her hubby da ghost. Fair winds friend........

Here's r infamous "What-A-Croc" eat'n up da young'ns. Fer some reason, da kids just love this reptilian, 'n he loves them
('e says they taste like chicken)!!!!!
We'd like to welcome aboard r newest member to da "Corniest Crewe on da Coast".
Introducing "Loose Cannon Katie". She be da product o Barbarosa n Bones, sister o Light Fingers Linnea n Wiley Wyatt. Don't let da innocent grin fool ya, she be liv'n up to her "loose cannon" monicker! It's not uncommon at all to hear "Thar she blows!" around r ship. God bless 'er and may His light shine upon 'er!
